Beautiful Sunday Concert by Singapore Wind Symphony
this sunday(duh).
4thMarch at 3pm . Great concert plus its FREE.
At Esplanade.
Those who want to go, please inform Amirul as soon as possible.
Will meet at Yishun at 1.15pm to avoid overcrowding.
Sec 1s especially, everyone is recommended to go! (:

Okay few things in this post..

Firstly, everyone who are involved in the SportsCarnival Orientation
of 6th of March (Tuesday) . The Dragonboat/Kayaking, I don't know..
Yeah, these people, i need you all to text Amirul tonight.

Next, do give any of our numbers to your parents/guardians.
This is to give them a connection to you all during band when your phones are with us.

Also, the date to return the donation cards have been extended to Wednesday, 7thMarch.

Lastly, the Majors will not be coming on time tomorrow.
As such, i need the sec3s to take charge.

Ouh, and MissOng and her committee for the 50th Anniversary Concert
will be coming down tomorrow to listen to our pieces.
Look through your scores tonight(if you have them) or listen to recordings
on YouTube to familiarise yourselves with it. yeahh.

Sec1s need not report but if you want to practice,
by all means. Come at the reporting time.

Section Leaders, I need you to bring a plasticbag/box/whatever can be used
to hold your own section's phones.
For now, I'll let the SLs hold onto their phones incase we need to send out any important
messages during sectionals.
However the rest of the section has to surrender their phones.
But, if i receive any complaints from your sectionmates that you use your phones for
the inappropriate reasons, you WILL have to surrender yours.

For the rest of you, there shouldn't be any reason like your phones are dead or its in your bag.
You will surrender all your phones at the beginning of band practice. Dead, or alive.
It will be returned to you after FallOut.

Reasons for why we're doing this?
Firstly, so that there will be no slacking during sectionals/combined. You have to
take everything during band seriously.
Secondly, you can't escape from FallOut.
I hope for the cooperation of the SLs on this.

Plan for tomorrow's sectionals:
The second halves of both 'Hands Across the Sea' and 'Concerto for Drumset and Concert Band'
till 4.30pm.
Then combined sectionals until 5.30. QMs, facilitate the sectionals.
Pack up and Fall in in the atrium by 5.40.

Okay hey people.
Reporting time is 2.40pm.
Dresscode is BandTee with School Bottoms.

Sec1s need not attend.
REPEAT, Sec1s are not required to attend Tuesday practices yet.
Wednesdays and Fridays for now.

Seniors, those who have not paid for BandFund($2) do so by this week.
an increase of 50cents will be put on you for ever subsequent practice
you do not pay from Friday.

Juniors, be reminded to pay $2 to our Treasurer on Wednesdays.

Seniors, please bring your Essential Elements files.
Plan for tomorrow is Sectionals with your juniors on Bb Scale and Essential Elements
until 3.15. Then full band in the Music Room.

The rest(seniors), do reflect on what you have been doing in band.
What are its effects on others, and the band as a whole.
Is it helping anyone else? Is it helping to improve the band?
Please stop, think and ask yourself this:
why are you still here?
If its because you love what you do, then great (:

But if its because you'll get into trouble if you don't,
then i guess you don't have much of a choice. Make the best of what's happening now.
Rather than coming here, not enjoying, then hating, then make yourselves a nuisance to the rest, sabotaging the band in terms of progress.

What I'm saying is, think about others. Think about your sectionmates, bandmates, leaders AND
our conductors.
Don't make life anymore difficult than it already is for everyone else.
Ouh, and enjoy what you do. Makes everything better. Really does.
